On the afternoon of Sunday June 22 a tournament was held at Louisquisset to benefit the Cumberland High School (CHS) Boys and Girls Cross Country teams.Brad Morgan's son, 16 year old John Henry Morgan,is one of the captains on this team. Fortunately the weather held off,and the 48 golfers were able to tee off and enjoy their 9 hole scramble. Immediately following their round, the golfers were joined in the clubhouse by an additional 30 + supporters for a buffet dinner, penny social, and raffle. The raffle committee of Michelle and Jim Sullivan had solicited over 50 gifts from local business establishments. The tee sign committee of Kathleen and Brian Connelly secured tee sign pledges from 26 area businesses. In addition, raffle prizes included Red Sox baseball tickets and an autographed photo of pitcher Tim Wakefield donated by the Boston Red Sox. A fun time was had by all and we are very pleased to be able to present a check in the amount of $2000 to Cross Country coach Tom Kenwood. These funds will be used to secure entree fees to cross country meets around New England, to assist with the cost on transportation, and to upgrade uniforms for the teams. Many thanks go out to our golf professional Keith Niles for his cooperation and assistance with planning this event. Also, our thanks to Chef Peter Squartrito and his excellent staff for insuring that there was food and drink aplenty. We plan to make this an annual event here at Louisquisset.

Brad Morgan
The Golf Committee would like to thank all of the golf members for letting Brad Morgan have his fund raiser. This was done on a Sunday afternoon to help him raise money for the Cumberland Cross Country Team. The committee knows that the members had to give up a little of their golf time on Sunday, but you can see by this letter of thanks it was very much appreciated. Brad has been a member in good standing for several years now.

In speaking for the Golf Committee, Thanks Brad we hope you make this outing a annual event.
